Botkyrka libraries grouping books by subject, not language
Public libraries in the municipality of Botkyrka have come up with a novel way of becoming more welcoming and inclusive to many local residents with a foreign background.
The six libraries are combining books of different languages on the same shelves instead of keeping books in languages such as Arabic, Persian or English in separate sections.
Marie Johansen, head of art and libraries at Botkyrka municipality tells Radio Sweden that they wanted their libraries to be more welcoming for residents who speak several languages.
